"Islamic finance in Malaysia: Evolution and Current Development"

The Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA) is hosting a conference entitled "Islamic finance in Malaysia: Evolution and Current Development". It will take place and will be delivered by PhD. Zaha Rina Zahari on Friday the 4th of December 2009 at 6:30 PM.

Malaysia is currently one of the most exciting and innovative Islamic financial markets in the world.

During the conference, Dr. Zahari will explain how Malaysia set up the necessary foundations to structure and develop such a dynamic Islamic financial market. She will cover topics such as the institutional framework set up by Malaysia in order to develop its Islamic financial market, the establishment of the Malaysian Financial Islamic Center, the importance of a competitive and adaptable Islamic financial market and the key imperatives going forward.

The conference will be held at ESA. The event is followed by a cocktail in ESA gardens.

PhD. Zaha Rina Zahari, is a capital and financial markets consultant and board member of numerous financial firms in Malaysia.

She participated to the development of the Malaysian Capital Market and the set up of the Bahrain Financial Exchange as well as Board appointments at the Commodity and Monetary Exchange of Malaysia (COMMEX) from 1993 to 1996, then as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kuala Lumpur and Financial Futures Exchange (KLOFFE) in 2001.
