Guida Harfouche

I have received my PhD in Pharmacology, Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Paris-Sud XI – France. I also hold an MBA from Ecole Supérieure des Affaires – Lebanon, and a DESM (Diplôme d’Etudes Supérieures en Management) from ESCP-Europe – France.

Prior to enrolling at ESA MBA program, I was fully invested in clinical research, with a scientific research background focusing on oncology and novel target identification. I worked in R&D and clinical research at ‘Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale’ (INSERM) and ‘Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique’ (CEA) in France, and was focused on publishing my work and developing my patent.

When I decided to move to the business side of the healthcare sector, I moved to the healthcare consulting world, as a Senior Strategy Consultant whose role encompassed developing market entry & business strategies, and leading the client relationship in Europe. Nonetheless, I knew that having an MBA would allow me to move up the ladder in the business world.

Hence, doing my MBA in ESA was a game changer for me, allowing me to acquire and develop my leadership and financial skills set, and to enhance my business acumen. After I finished my MBA at ESA, I was hired by a private equity specializing in healthcare investments. My responsibilities include identifying potential investment opportunities, maximizing profit, performance, and value of portfolio companies through strategic business planning, financial modeling and valuation as well as developing strategies for building and expanding existing portfolio businesses, and performing investment screening and due diligence on potential future investments.
