The Shipping and Logistics course gives participants an introduction and an overview to the shipping market. It offers students the opportunity to gain specialized knowledge and good practices into shipping business, including the line management, the role of law, supply chain and terminal management.
The course will introduce participants to important factors to consider when working with shippers, consignees, private operators, customs…Emphasis is put on practical aspects such as line management, key performance indicators, insurance, dangerous goods, security rules on terminal, container stock optimization..., but the course will also give participants an understanding of the mechanism and structures that determine price and value as well as the economic background of the shipping world. Port visits will round out the course.
The highlight will be a 4-day trip to Le Havre, visiting the port of Le Havre (first French port for the containers), an area dedicated to the management of containers, as well as a shipping agency visit and meeting with port Executives.
